IAA online portal – Conditions of use

The conditions listed below apply to the use of the Immigration Advisers online portal provided by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (the Ministry) on this website. The Ministry reserves the right to modify these conditions from time to time.

By using the Immigration Advisers Online service you agree to be legally bound by the following terms and conditions, which shall take effect immediately on your first use of this website. 

Signed on User

As a signed on user, you are responsible for keeping your Username, Password, and Security Question(s) and Answer(s) secure. You should never disclose your password or Security Question(s) and Answer(s) to anyone else. If you think someone has gained knowledge of your Username, Password, and Security Question and Answer, you must immediately change your password using the RealMe logon service provided through this website.

It is the responsibility of the Signed on User to keep their personal details up to date.

If we consider that your account has become inactive through lack of use, we may cancel your IAA Online service account and you will be required to reactivate your account if you wish to continue using Immigration Advisers Online services.

Privacy and security

We understand the need to safeguard your personal information, and respect your rights under the Privacy Act 2020. The Act regulates us through the Information Privacy Principles as to how we collect, use, hold, disclose, access, correct, manage and dispose of your personal information.

Any personal information will be kept and maintained by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Personal information will be used for determining whether applications for initial licensing and continued licensing may be granted, and in connection with complaints and disciplinary processes and in connection with the fulfillment of the any of the statutory roles of the Ministry. Personal information will also be used for the maintenance and administration of the Building Practitioners Register. The information provided may be used for statistical analysis (in which case no information identifying individuals will be published). You have the right to access, and to have corrected, any information about you that is held by the Ministry.

Where site use and statistics are concerned, this site does not collect any information that identifies individual users. Please email privacy@iaa.govt.nz if you have any questions or concerns about the personal information that we hold about you.

This website is secured by 128-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate that provides a high level protection to any personal data being transmitted over the Internet. However, you must ensure that your computer system and data are free of computer viruses. Please note that application and/ or supporting document(s) will not be accepted by the Ministry if they are infected by a computer virus.

Transfer of Information

Signed on Users assume all risks associated with any transfer of data or information to the Ministry, and with any other use of this site. Whilst all reasonable efforts have been taken to ensure the security of the information while in transit to the Ministry, we do not warrant this, and we are not liable for any damage arising from interception, loss, theft or other action or difficulty.
