The Licensed Immigration Advisers Code of Conduct (the code of conduct) addresses the expected standards of professional and ethical conduct for licensed immigration advisers and must be observed.
If a licensed immigration adviser breaches the code of conduct, a complaint can be made to the Immigration Advisers Authority. The complaint may then be referred to the Immigration Advisers Complaints and Disciplinary Tribunal and, if upheld, may lead to disciplinary sanctions.
The code of conduct does not list exhaustively the acts and omissions that may fall short of what is expected of a competent and responsible licensed immigration adviser. If at any time a licensed immigration adviser is uncertain about their compliance with the code of conduct, they may wish to seek independent legal advice.
