Licensed immigration advisers reference group

Each year licensed immigration advisers volunteer to become part of a reference group to help improve the way the Immigration Advisers Authority is run.

The reference group meets approximately three times a year to discuss a broad range of issues and policy matters affecting the immigration advice profession. Members of the reference group may also be consulted on draft policy at other times during the year.

The reference group is made up of 10 licensed immigration advisers, including the chairperson of the New Zealand Association for Migration and Investment (NZAMI) or their representative, and an Immigration New Zealand manager. The Authority changes the membership of the reference group annually to ensure that a broad range of immigration adviser views are represented over time. All licensed immigration advisers are invited each year to express their interest in becoming a member of the reference group.

Volunteers will be asked to email us their comments on a variety of topics throughout the year and commit to three Tuesday meetings from 10am to 2pm on:

17 April 2012
14 August 2012
13 November 2012

Email your expression of interest, with background information about yourself and your business, to info@iaa.govt.nz by 14 February 2012.

Following agreement by the reference group, the meeting minutes will be published here:

Please email the Authority with your suggestion for a topic for discussion by the reference group.
