There’s now a law in place to promote and protect the interests of people receiving immigration advice and to enhance the reputation of New Zealand as a migration destination. Anyone giving immigration advice in New Zealand must have a licence (unless exempt) and Immigration New Zealand is required to refuse to accept applications or requests from unlicensed advisers, unless exempt.  Licensing for overseas advisers is compulsory from 4 May 2010.
