The Treaty and Māori culture

Keep your clients informed about the Treaty of Waitangi and tikanga (Māori customs and traditions) by providing them with the resources below.

All immigration advisers have a duty to help clients access information on the Treaty of Waitangi and tikanga (Māori customs and traditions), on request. This falls within clause 1.1(g) of the Licensed Immigration Advisers Code of Conduct 2010, and Competency 3.5 of the Immigration Advisers Competency Standards 2010.

To help you meet these obligations, we have brought together useful resources to pass on to your clients.

Also, should you wish to incorporate Te Reo Māori into your business you can visit the Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori (the Māori Language Commission) website for ideas on how to do so.
