First-time applicants for a full or limited immigration adviser licence must successfully complete the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic’s Graduate Certificate in New Zealand Immigration Advice.
The online programme of study covers the Immigration Adviser Competency Standards and the Licensed Immigration Advisers Code of Conduct. The programme takes six months full-time and is also available part-time. This is the only qualification approved by the Registrar of Immigration Advisers.
First-time applicants for a provisional licence must complete Courses A and B of the Graduate Certificate in Immigration Advice only, and must have an approved supervision arrangement.
